2015 UNU-GEST Fellows attend Commission on the Status of Women (CSW60) session in New York
Two 2015 GEST Fellows, Limbani Phiri and Victor Maulidi from Malawi, were privileged to attend the 60th annual session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW60) at United Nations Headquarters in New York in March this year.

UNU-GTP and LaGeo, El Salvador sign a new cooperation agreement
On Monday, 25 April, the UNU-GTP and LaGeo of El Salvador signed an agreement regarding enhanced cooperation in geothermal capacity building for the Latin America and Caribbean region.

UNU-GEST hosted the Final Book Sprint of the Global Gender and Environmental Outlook (GGEO) on 22-26 February 2016 at the University of Iceland, in Reykjavík.

Fellows visit SCSI HQ and horticultural campus of AUI
Recently the UNU-LRT fellows visited Gunnarsholt, the headquarters of the Soil Conservation Service of Iceland (SCSI) in South Iceland. The Director of SCSI, Mr Sveinn Runolfsson, welcomed the group and presented each fellow with the book Healing the land by Roger Croft, which tells the story of land reclamation and soil conservation in Iceland. Ms Anne Bau, biologist at SCSI, showed the fellows around Gunnarsholt and the facilities there. The fellows will live in Gunnarsholt for two months in the summer or from mid-June to mid-August while they work on their individual research projects.

The 38th session of the UNU-GTP
The 38th session of the UNU-GTP opened on Tuesday 19th of April.
