UNU-GEST has published a directory of former fellows on its website. This allows alumni members and other interested to search the directory by country, specialization and the year of graduation.

Fellows on field excursion

During the six-month training in Iceland, the UNU-LRT fellows go on two different field excursions. Last week the fellows undertook their second field excursion, this time to the West and North Iceland. The focus was on land degradation in Iceland, implementation of restoration work, restoration vs. reclamation and an introduction to Icelandic cultural background through stories and historical sites.

2011 fellow Ester Sumbana joins Plan International Mozambique

The UNU-GEST team congratulates the former 2011 fellow, Ester Maceda Sumbana, on her recent position as the Gender Coordinator and Advisor of the Plan International Mozambique. Plan International Mozambique is an organization working in 50 developing countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas.

UNU-GEST contributes to the GGEO 2016

The Global Gender and Environment Outlook (GGEO) was published In May of 2016 at the United Nations Environment Assembly. The GGEO constitutes the first assessment that provides a comprehensive overview about the interplay between gender and the environment.

Short course on Value Chain Approach in the Caribbean

A five day course on Value Chain Approach in Caribbean Fisheries is being delivered in Paramaribo in Suriname by the UNU-FTP and the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM) July 18-22 as part of collaboration between the two parties on developing fisheries among states in the Caribbean Community.
