New Director of GTP
At the end of 2019, Lúdvík Georgsson will step down as Director of UNU-GTP as he will have reached the Government retirement age limit of 70 years. Lúdvík has been the Director since Ingvar Fridleifsson retired in 2013. Before that Lúdvík was the Deputy Director since 1990. His years as a staff member therefore covers 30 years although he was involved in teaching and supervising Fellows since its establishment in 1979.

Workshop in Kigoma, Tanzania
The Fisheries Training Programme conducted a five-day workshop in Kigoma, Tanzania from 18 – 22 November 2019. The workshop was on fish quality and training in sensory evaluation of fish freshness. It was conducted in collaboration with Matís, TAFIRI and the Tanzanian regional government authorities.
