The year 2010 was the second year of the pilot phase of the GEST Programme. The Programme was organized for 15 weeks, which constituted an increase of three weeks from the previous year. The curriculum of the Programme was evaluated by the Division of Academic Affairs at the UI as containing workload equal to 30 ECTS.

Description

The programme content addresses some of the main challenges women face in developing countries and conflict/post-conflict countries and societies. It was decided to develop the five different themes in tandem as these covered topics that were considered essential to the fellows‟ future work in the field of equality. In 2010, a special emphasis was placed on “gender and mainstreaming”, “gender and security sector reform” and “gender and economics”. The Programme was organized around the following five key modules, ending with the project proposals:

  1. Gender and Governance
  2. Gender and Economy
  3. Gender and Security
  4. Gender, Culture and Social Capital
  5. Gender and Environment
  6. Project Proposal
