The GEST postgraduate diploma programme (30 ECTS) is hosted by the School of Humanities at the University of Iceland. Studies commence in early January and the programme ends in late May each year. The programme consists of six to seven modules, taught by leading experts in their respective fields. Successful candidates are awarded a postgraduate diploma in International Gender Equality Studies from the University of Iceland.
The overall goal of the programme is to educate and train young professionals from developing countries and conflict/post-conflict societies in gender equality methods and theories and to strengthen their professional capacities for advancing and implementing gender-sensitive projects in their home countries. The programme’s curriculum builds upon theories and practices in gender equality and on development studies, incorporating a multidisciplinary approach.
The target group for the GEST diploma programme consists of junior professionals from developing countries and conflict/post-conflict societies working for government ministries and agencies, civil society organisations, and educational institutes.
