4 March 2015
The Palistinian feminist and political activist Amany El Gharib from Gaza writes for Forum for women and development (FOCUS) and explores some issues of who can be regarded as a true gender equality champion. She contends that women´s political rights are among the vital rights women should have. In her article she looks to Iceland and Ruwanda, but more is still to come, as this is the first article in her series of three.
Amany El Gharib graduated from the UNU-GEST diploma programme in 2012 and was a candidate for the European Parliament for the Swedish Feminist Initiative Party in 2014. Her article can be found here.
