Gender Responsive Budgeting: Short course held in Reykjavik
UNU-GEST offered a short course in gender responsive budgeting, held at the University of Iceland in Reykjavik, 19-23 February 2018. Dr. Elisabeth Klatzer, a leading expert in the field gave the training for 29 participants who were fellows from the UNU-GEST diploma programme in international gender studies, but additionally, particpiants from the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the city of Reykjavik and the Icelandic Church Aid took part. Participants came from 17 different countries and guest lecturers from the city of Reykjavik and the Icelandic Ministry of Fínance shared lessons learned on the approaches used for gender responsive budgeting within the national government and municipalities in Iceland.
The course was very well received by participants, who, upon completion, revied a certificate of participation from UNU-GEST.
