GRÓ GEST Alumni Behind New Podcast

Imagine a world where the voices from political spaces in South Asia become a part of global discussion on gender and politics. This is the world that two GRÓ GEST alumni envision with their new interview series, Worth Asking.

Worth Asking: Gender, Politics, and South Asia is a new podcast from the Centre for Gender and Politics (CGAP); a think tank co-founded by 2023 GRÓ GEST alumn Akhil Neelam. The think tank is based in India and contributes to a high-quality scholarship on the intersection of gender, politics and South Asia. Together with Aditi Rindani, fellow 2023 alumn and Head of Operations at media company Tatvam Productions, they have created an exciting podcast that focuses on women's careers in South Asian politics. The podcast features insightful interviews and thought-provoking discussions with women leaders from South Asia to explore the challenges women face and how they overcome them to emerge as leaders.

The initiative for Worth Asking is a direct result of the connection Mr. Neelam and Ms. Rindani formed during the GRÓ GEST programme. In their own words, “The knowledge and skills we gained at GRÓ GEST have been instrumental in shaping the content and direction of our podcast, which aims to explore and address critical issues related to gender equality and inclusion.”

The GRÓ GEST alumni strategy recognizes the potential of its alumni as change agents and emphasizes the importance of continued communication and collaboration between those who have completed the GEST programme and developed their capacities to continue to move the needle on gender equality in their home regions. GRÓ GEST is therefore proud to witness a collaboration between its alumni with a wide-reaching potential to further transnational knowledge exchange on gender issues in South Asia.

The podcast is available on Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts and others.
