UNU-GEST and UNU-GTP joint lecture on "Gender and Energy" by Dr. Ellen Morris on 28th April.
The UNU-GEST programme is hosting a joint lecture on "Gender and Energy" in cooperation with the UNU-GTP Geothermal Training Programme (University of Iceland).
The event will take place 28 April, 13:00-15:00 at Orkustofnun - UNU-GTP, Room: Víðgelmir, Grensásvegur 9, 108 Reykavík.
Dr. Ellen Morris, an adjunct professor from Columbia SIPA, and President and Founder of Sustainable Energy Solutions, is a sustainable energy specialist and a senior consultant for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on sustainable energy. She has a vast experience in international energy issues with special emphasis on low-income countries.
Dr. Ellen will give lectures on the energy access situation in developing countries and the impacts on women, the link between gender and energy as it relates to policies, technologies and businesses in developing countries, and how to address gender inequalities in programme planning and design.
