2016 UNU-GEST alumni blogsites published: Climate Change – the North and the South
The group of four students from the UNU-GEST 2016 alumni collectively addressed the topic of climate change in the North and South through the themes of tourism, livelihoods and health.
The perspectives discussed are in relation to the alumni’s field trip to the fishing town of Höfn in south-east Iceland for the gender and climate change module, in which students attended climate change seminars, presented their research on relevant projects and visited Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier, in order to experience the physical effects of climate change and the repercussions this has on local communities, with specialised focus on gender perspectives.
