Short Bio

Gunnar has a Ph.D. in Statistics from the Department of Statistics of the Ohio State University, 1983; M.S. in Statistics from the Department of Statistics of the Ohio State University, 1981; B.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Iceland, 1978.

He is a professor of statistics at the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences at the University of Iceland. Before that Gunnar worked for the MFRI for six years.

Amongst R&D projects he has been involved in are: Web-assisted education; Statistical models of marine ecosystems; Marine surveys using autonomous underwater vehicles; statistics in molecular biology.

Gunnar has contributed as a lecturer and supervisor to the FTP from beginning of the programme.
