FTP fellows wrapping up
This winter’s FTP fellows are wrapping up their final projects and will introduce them in a series of presentations in the coming days. The presentations are open to all. It is a great opportunity to learn about some of the challenges fisheries and aquaculture are facing in different countries throughout the world.

MOU signed between Makerere University and University of Iceland
The GEST programme at the University of Iceland and Makerere University‘s School of Women and Gender Studies (SWGS) in Kampala, Uganda, have collaborated for many years.

Course co-developed by LRT listed as top online course
The short open online course Sheep in the Land of Fire and Ice, co-developed by Land Restoration Training Programme, has been listed as one of the top 30 Class Central Best Online Courses of 2019, out of more than 2,400 courses released last year! Class Central is a search engine and review site for open online courses where you can find information about courses from different providers, and read the reviews from learners that have taken the course. Class Central releases every year a list of the best courses based on learners‘ reviews.

Cynthia Enloe Awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Iceland
We are honoured to announce that Cynthia Enloe, Research Professor at Clark University, world-renowned feminist scholar, and long-standing lecturer at the GEST Programme, has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the Faculty of Languages and Cultures at the University of Iceland. Prof. Enloe has been an annual lecturer at the GEST Programme since 2010 where she teaches on gender, peace, and security.

Cynthia Enloe - Honorary Doctorate at the University of Iceland
Cynthia Enloe, Research Professor at Clark University, world-renowned feminist scholar, and long-standing lecturer at the GEST programme, will be rewarded an honorary doctorate by the Faculty of Languages and Cultures at the University of Iceland on 4 February 2020 at 16:00. The ceremony will take place in the Aula, Aðalbygging, at the University of Iceland. All are welcome!
