GRÓ GEST celebrates the release of its online courses in international gender studies

Last week, from 2 - 6 October, the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) implemented a five-day training course on Gender and Climate Change in Nkhotakota district in partnership with GRÓ GEST.

After a lengthy selection process during March-July 2023, as the GEST selection panel reviewed nearly 400 nominations from almost 50 countries, 23 candidates from 14 countries have been selected to attend the 2024 GEST academic programme.

As part of an ongoing Erasmus+ partnership between CEGENSA at the University of Ghana and the GEST programme at the Univeristy of Iceland, the Director of GRÓ GEST visited Accra earlier this year.

The GRÓ GEST office will be closed for summer holidays from 15th July through 7th August 2023. E-mail will be monitored but responses are to be expected after the office reopens in August.

Yeshiwas Degu Belay, GEST alumnus (2017), is now halfway through his PhD research, which is a joint degree programme of the University of Iceland and Erasmus University of Rotterdam and investigates Ethiopian experiences with international peacekeeping missions and the gender dimensions.
