Selection of new cohort and summer closure

Once more, the work of GRÓ GEST‘s admissions committee has been concluded with the selection of next year‘s cohort. For 2025, invitations to join the programme have been sent to over 20 outstanding gender professionals, from over 15 different countries. They represent many walks of life – coming from both the public and private sectors and working in civil society organisations and NGO‘s, government organisations and ministries, and education and research institutions. We cannot wait to welcome them to Iceland come January!

Nonetheless, this time in the year is also bittersweet, as space in the programme is severly limited and for every individual invited to join the programme there are always several other highly capable applicants who do not receive invitations. No candidates were formally waitlisted this year, as it is extremely rare for a waitlisted candidate to be invited to join the programme. However, interviewed candidates are, in general, considered to be waitlisted for the programme, should anything change.

At this time the GRÓ GEST offices will close for summer vacations. The offices will remain closed from 15 July to 6 August, during which time inquiries sent to gest@hi.is and gestadmit@hi.is will not be responded to.
