Visit from new GRÓ Director General
This week, the Fisheries Training Programme was pleased to welcome the newly appointed Director General for the GRÓ Centre, Ms. Nína Björk Jónsdóttir.
Ms. Jónsdóttir and Mr Jón Karl Ólafsson, Chairman of the GRÓ Board, were welcomed by thh GRÓ-FTP staff, who introduced the programme and its new facility at the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute in Hafnarfjörður.

Nína Björk Jónsdóttir new Director General of GRÓ
Nína Björk Jónsdóttir has taken over as Director General for GRÓ, Centre for Capacity Development, Sustainability and Societal Change. She succeeds Friðrik Jónsson who was elected Chairman of the Icelandic Confederation of University Graduates (BHM) on 27 May.

GRÓ LRT celebrates the launch of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration
GRÓ LRT fellows celebrated the start of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration with a workshop on capacity development needs for ecosystem restoration. In the workshop, the fellows came up with recommendations on how their home institutions can effectively support the goals of the Restoration Decade.
