Decolonizing Nordic Higher Education

This week research specialist Giti Chandra and academic coordinator Thomas Brorsen Smidt of GRÓ-GEST took part in the intra-Nordic workshop “Decolonizing Nordic Higher Education” at Södertörn University in Stockholm. The workshop, which was held on October 5 and 6, was organised by GRÓ-GEST in collaboration with Yulia Gradskova, associate professor of history at Södertörn University, and was supported by ReNEW, a research hub established to enhance cooperation to develop new quality research on the Nordic region within a global context.

Building Trust for Sustainable Peace: Conference

GRÓ GEST joins Höfði Reykjavík Peace Centre in hosting its annual conference on peace, this year in cooperation with the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs and The Institute for Sustainability Studies. The conference takes place on Friday, 8 October from 12 pm to 4.30 pm at Veröld - The House of Vigdís at the University of Iceland. Congratulations to the GRÓ LRT fellows of 2021

GRÓ Land Restoration Training Programme graduated 17 fellows in a ceremony at the Keldnaholt campus of the Agricultural University of Iceland, held on 27 September. This year’s graduating cohort came from eight countries in Africa and Central Asia: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kyrgyzstan, Lesotho, Malawi, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Uganda.
