Icelandic Literature Center donation to GRÓ library
The Icelandic Literature Center has donated to the GRÓ library a collection of recent translations of Icelandic literature into different languages such as Arabic, Russian and Spanish. The small but growing GRÓ library at the fellow‘s residence on Grensásvegur is aimed at giving the fellows the possibility to get to know Iceland and Icelandic culture through literature. Reading is an important aspect of life in Iceland and hopefully the fellows will enjoy diving into Icelandic literary works during their spare time.
This is the second donation from the Icelandic Literature Center to the GRÓ library. The role of the Center is to raise awareness of Icelandic literature, both in Iceland and abroad, and promote its distribution. Last year Reykjavík UNESCO City of Literature also donated books to the library. The books are available to fellows staying at the GRÓ house on Grensásvegur that accommodates fellows in the Fisheries Training Programme, Geothermal Training Programme and Land Restoration Training Programme during their stay in Iceland.
