Short Bio
Thanh Viet Nguyen, Ph.D. in Economics with an emphasis on ecosystem-based fishery management, currently serves as an associate professor in the Faculty of Natural Resource Sciences at the University of Akureyri. His primary research areas include fisheries economics and management, natural resource and environmental economics, productivity and efficiency. With extensive international experience, he collaborates in cross-disciplinary teams and networks. Thanh has both led and participated in numerous research projects funded by organizations such as WWF, FAO, World Bank, and the European Union. His research findings have been published in reputable international academic journals such as Marine Resource Economics, Environmental and Resource Economics, Economic Analysis and Policy, and Marine Policy. In addition to his academic background, Thanh Viet Nguyen has practical experience as a consultant for development projects.
