Short Bio

Ólafur Jón has a Mag art degree from the University of Copenhagen in education and philosophy (pedagogy) 1990, specialising in teaching methods and curriculum design.

Besides teaching on all levels of education for twenty years, Olafur Jon was study counsellor and assistant principal at Sauðárkrókur Comprehensive College from 1985-1994. Principal at Egilsstaðir College 1994/1995 and principal at Suðurnes Comprehensive College from 1995-2010.

He was founder of the first lifelong learning centre in Suðurnes and chairman of the board from 1997-2010. Also founder of the Icelandic College of Fisheries (2008) and principal from the start in 2010.
