Short Bio
Ólafur holds a BSc in biology from the University of Iceland and a PhD in zoology from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.
He is a former deputy director of the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute.
Ólafur's research interests include species distribution and life cycle strategies of zooplankton (copepods, euphausiids, mysids), recruitment of fish stocks and long-term changes in the Icelandic marine ecosystem in relation to climate.
