Thor Heiðar Ásgeirsson is the new director of FTP. He formally took over the responsibility on August 1st from Tumi Tómasson, who has been director since the foundation of the programme in 1998.

Britney Kasmiran finishes her MSc studies at the University of Iceland

UNU-FTP is proud to announce that Ms. Britney Sharline Kasmiran, a fellow 2016, defended her MSc thesis on “Physicochemical Properties and potential utilization of side raw materials of Yellowfin (Thunnus albacares) and albacore (Thunnus alalunga) tuna” on May 27 2019 at Matis. Her supervisors were Prof. Maria Gudjonsdottir, Prof. Sigurjon Arason, Dr. Magnea Karlsdóttir.

Tuesday March 12th 2019 United Nations University Fisheries Training Program will hold a graduation ceremony for its 21st cohort of fellows. The ceremony will take place at the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute (MFRI), Skúlagata 4, 1st floor and starts at 16:00.
