Prof Otwell completes his work at the UNU-FTP
26 January 2010
Professor Otwell from University of Florida completes today his work with the UNU-FTP. Not only has he giving a series of lectures to the UNU fellows and staff but he has also met with the fellows to
discuss their projects and provide valuable comments.
On Friday and Saturday Prof Otwell ran a course on HACCP for US certification to people in the fishing industry in Iceland. Also at the course were the UNU fellows specializing in Quality Management
of Fish Handling and Processing and in Sustainable Aquaculture, and a few former UNU fellows doing graduate studies at the University of Iceland and University of Akureyri, a total of 35 people.
Having an international figure such as Prof Otwell visiting is of great value to the UNU-FTP where it gives the fellows an opportunity to better understand the work and the effort that goes into
projects that affect fisheries all over the world. During his visit Prof Otwell gave a series of six lectures which are available (slides and audio) on this web site
