The 13th cohort of fellows has arrived in Iceland for the 6 months training programme. The group this year consists of 19 fellows from 14 countries: Malaysia (2), Indonesia (1), Sri Lanka (1), Oman (2), China (1), Vietnam (2), Bangladesh (1), Uganda (2), Ghana (2), Sierra Leone (1), Tanzania (1), Liberia (1), Barbados (1), and Jamaica (1). Of those 19 four are women. Three lines of specialization are run this year: Quality Management of Fish Handling and Processing, Fisheries Policy and Planning, and Management of Fisheries Companies and Marketing which will be taught at the University of Akureyri. This year UNU-FTP continues its focus on West Africa and cooperation with regional organization such as Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism.
