GRÓ-FTP welcomes new postgraduate scholarship recipient Symon Ngwira from Malawi
Symon Ngwira from Malawi, a former 2001-2022 FTP fellow, arrived in Iceland earlier in September to begin his master’s studies at the University of Iceland on a scholarship provided by GRÓ-FTP. Symon will study on the Environment and Natural Resources master´s programme which is an interdisciplinary and international programme with a focus on environmental issues and the utilisation of natural resources. Symon will specialise in Ocean Sustainability.
Symon works for the Department of Fisheries in Malawi and during FTP´s six-month programme specialised in Sustainable Aquaculture. His 2021-2022 research project is entitled “Exploring the biological and socio-economic potentials of the Rhamphochromis species for the expansion of Malawian Aquaculture”.
The GRÓ-FTP team is pleased to welcome Symon Ngwira back and wish him all the best during his master´s study period in Iceland.
