GRÓ-FTP scholarship recipient Alvin Slewion Jueseah to defend PhD
Thursday August 18th GRÓ-FTP scholarship recipient, Alvin Slewion Jueseah, will defend his PhD research Economic Analysis of the Coastal Fisheries of Liberia.
The defence takes place at University of Iceland's main building and starts at 14:00.
Supervisor of the research is Dr Daði Már Kristófersson, professor at the Faculty of Economics. Apart from him in the doctoral committee are Dr Ögmundur Knútsson, director of the Directorate of Fisheries, and Dr Tumi Tómasson, senior adviser at the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute.
Opponents in the defence are Ms Jingjie Chu, economist at the World Bank, and Dr Ian G. Cowx, professor at University of Hull.
The defence will be presided over by Dr Birgir Þór Runólfsson, president of the Faculty of Economics.
Alvin joined the Fisheries Training Programme as a special guest in 2019. Alongside his research work he assisted with lectures and supervision in the GRÓ-FTP's Fisheries and Policy line of specialisation. He is the fifteenth person to complete his Ph.D. under an FTP scholarship.
