Fellows attend IIFET 2016 conference in Aberdeen, Scotland
The UNU-FTP awarded grants to nine former fellows to attend the International Institute of Fisheries Economics and Trade (IIFET) conference July 11-15, 2016 held in Aberdeen, Scotland. This year, the conference theme was "Challenging new frontiers in the global seafood sector: A northern enlightenment."
In total, the UNU-FTP has awarded 34 travel grants to former fellows for participation in IIFET's biennial conference. The first time UNU-FTP supported a group of former fellows to attend the IIFET conference was in 2012, when it was held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Another group was sponsored by UNU-FTP in 2014 when the conference was in Brisbane, Australia.
As with in past years, grants were awarded on a competitive basis to those former fellows whose papers were accepted for an oral or poster presentation. Grants were allocated by IIFET based on the merits of the projects accepted and the complement to the rest of the conference programme.
Congratulations to all the fellows who attended this year to present their work:
