Dr. Wang Tao, the first UNU fellow to finish PhD studies in Iceland

Today, December 8 , Mrs. Wang Tao from China and a UNU Fellow in 2005 defended successfully her PhD dissertation in Food Science from the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition, School of Health Sciences, University of Iceland. Her work was on Enhancing the quality of seafood products through new preservation techniques and seaweed based antioxidants – Algal polyphenols as novel natural antioxidants. Mrs. Wang is the first UNU fellow on a UNU-FTP scholarship to finish a PhD degree in Iceland. Part of her dissertation is based on the work she did during her six months training at the UNU-FTP. The UNU-FTP staff congratulates her and is extremely proud of her accomplishment.
