7 March 2012
Congratulations to the 2011-2012 UNU-FTP Fellows who officially completed the 6 month training course in Iceland!
Yesterday, the UNU-FTP Fellows celebrated their graduation from the 6 month training programme with a ceremony hosted by Matís. This was the 14th cohort that has graduated since the FTP begin
in 1998. We were so pleased to hear the wonderful speeches delivered by Johann Sigurjonsson, Director of the Marine Research Institute of Iceland, and Sigurgeir Þorgeirsson the Permanent
Secretary of the Icelandic Ministry for Fisheries and Agriculture. In addition, we were dazzled by the speech made by Yaa Tiwah Amoah from Ghana on behalf of the fellows. It was a pleasure to share
the past 6 months with this wonderful group of people, and we are all excited to watch them go out into the world and accomplish many more great things in the field of fisheries.
