Congratulations Dr. Hang Thi Nguyen
Dr. Hang Thi Nguyen successfully defended her PhD last Wednesday at the University of Iceland under the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition. Her thesis was titled ‘Novel protein sources from fish processing side streams and underutilized species for human consumption.’
The doctoral supervisors were Dr. María Guðjónsdóttir, Professor and Dean at Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition, and Dr. Sigurjón Arason, Professor Emeritus at University of Iceland/Matís. Also on the doctoral committee were Dr. Ólöf Guðný Geirsdóttir, Professor at Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition, Dr. Ingibjörg Gunnarsdóttir, Professor at Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition, and Dr. Tumi Tómasson, senior adviser at GRÓ-FTP.
Opponents were Dr. Heidi Nielsen, Research director of Nofima in Tromsö, Norway and Dr. Ida-Johanne Jensen, Assistant professor at Norwegian University of Science and Technology/ UiT the Arctic University of Norway.
