The second graduation from LRT six month training programme

Six LRT fellows who participated in the second full six month training programme graduated on October the 1st 2009.  This is the third graduation since the initiation of the LRT programme, but the first fellows where offered a seven week training programme in 2007.  This year the fellows came from Ghana, Ethiopia, Uganda, Mongolia and Uzbekistan.

This year the fellows got specialized training in the fields of Sustainable land management and in Land degradation assessment/land restoration.  At the graduation ceremony each fellow presented their project, which they had worked on during the last months of the programme.

The fellows receive scholarships from the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs, as the Land Restoration Training Programme is a part of Iceland’s development co-operation efforts.
