Prof. Asa L. Aradottir and Dr. Konrad Osterwalder discuss land restoration in Iceland
The rector of the United Nations University (UNU), Prof. Dr. Konrad Osterwalder, is currently in Iceland to visit the Icelandic UNU training programmes.  Yesterday he visited the headquarters of UNU-LRT at Keldnaholt where he was welcomed by the UNU-LRT director as well as the rector of the Agricultural University of Iceland (AUI) and the director of the Soil Conservation Service of Iceland (SCSI); the two institutes that implement UNU-LRT.

Prof. Dr. Konrad Osterwalder was shown the AUI and SCSI facilities at Keldnaholt and told about the main activities of these institutes. Afterwards there were lively discussions about sustainable land management, land restoration and the importance of international cooperation in those fields.  It was enjoyable to have the UNU rector for a visit and get the opportunity to discuss these pressing global issues with him.
