Former UNU-LRT fellow completes a Master´s degree in Ghana
Mr Salifu Wahabu, a former fellow of UNU-LRT from 2013, defended his Master´s thesis earlier this month in his home country. The title of his thesis was: “Impact of Charcoal Production on Soil Properties and Vegetation in the Central Gonja District of the Northern Region, Ghana”. He has now graduated with an M.Phil. in Environmental Science from the University of Ghana, Legon in Accra.
According to Mr Wahabu, the training he received at UNU-LRT gave him new insights into research work and more confidence in his work. He specifically mentions that the presentation skills he acquired in the training were very useful during the thesis defence. The network of former fellows has already proved very beneficial for Mr Wahabu as he has got valuable assistance and helpful recommendations from his own cohort since graduating from UNU-LRT. The UNU-LRT team congratulates Mr Wahabu on his achievements.
