Course co-developed by LRT listed as top online course

The short open online course Sheep in the Land of Fire and Ice, co-developed by the Land Restoration Training Programme, has been listed as one of the top 30 Class Central Best Online Courses of 2019, out of more than 2,400 courses released last year! Class Central is a search engine and review site for open online courses where you can find information about courses from different providers, and read the reviews from learners that have taken the course. Class Central releases every year a list of the best courses based on learners‘ reviews.

Sheep in the Land of Fire and Ice is a short course that covers topics related to the sustainability of sheep grazing in Iceland and explores how history, socioeconomic factors and environmental conditions have influenced the management of grazing resources. The course is taught by Associate Proffesor Isabel C Barrio and a group of experts, including several lecturers at LRT. The course was launched on the edX platform in March 2019, and so far more than 700 learners from more than 70 countries around the world have taken the course!
