The 38th session of the UNU-GTP
The 38th session of the UNU-GTP opened on Tuesday 19th of April.
The Director, Lúdvik S. Georgsson, lead the opening ceremony and gave a talk about the work and history of the United Nations University Geothermal Training Programme and welcomed the new group of Fellows. Dr. Guðni A. Jóhannsson, the Director general of Orkustofnun, welcomed the Fellows on behalf of the host institution Orkustofnun.
This year a record number of 34 UNU Fellows from 15 countries participate in the six month specialised courses. The Fellows come from Bolivia 1, China 1, Djibouti 2, Ecuador 1, El Salvador 1, Ethiopia 2, Hungary 6, Iran 1, Kenya 8, Mongolia 1, Romania 4, Rwanda 1, Tanzania 3, Uganda 1, and Vietnam 1. This is the first time Hungary participates in the Six Month Programme.
