The 35th session of the UNU-GTP
The 35th session of the UNU-GTP opened on Tuesday 23rd of April.
The Director, Dr Ingvar B. Friðleifsson, lead the opening ceremony and gave a presentation about the work of the United Nations University and the UNU Prorammes in Iceland and their
establishment.
This year a record number of 34 UNU Fellows from 15 countries participate in the six month specialised courses. The Fellows come from Bangladesh 2, Burundi 1, China 2, Djibouti 2, El Salvador
2, Ethiopia 2, India 1, Kenya 12, Malawi 1, Nicaragua 1, Papua New Guinea 1, Philippines 3, Rwanda 2, Sri Lanka 1, and Uganda 1.
The Fellows will attend training in Borehole Geology 3, Borehole Geophysics 3, Chemistry of Thermal Fluids 4, Drilling Technology 4, Geological Exploration 3, Geophysical Exploration 5, Geothermal
Utilization 7, and Reservoir Engineering 5.
