The “Short Course on Surface Exploration for Geothermal Resources” for young professionals in Central America and the Caribbean was opened on October
17th in El Salvador with the participants arriving in San Salvador.
The fieldwork has begun with geophysical fieldwork at Ahuachapan. The students come from El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Honduras, Dominica and Nevis. Session instructors are professionals from LaGeo of El Salvador, ICE of Costa Rica and ISOR of Iceland. For the lecture and exercise part starting on October 25th more instructors from Iceland will join the group.
The “Short Course on Surface Exploration for Geothermal Resources” for young professionals in Central America and the Caribbean was opened on October 17th in El Salvador with the participants arriving in San Salvador. The course is organized by UNU-GTP and LaGeo and is planned as a two week course with a first week of field work in the geothermal field Ahuachapan and second week of lectures and exercises at the head quarters of LaGeo in Santa Tecla.
