Short Course on Geothermal Project Management in Kenya
During 18-28 May, the UNU-GTP conducted a Short Course on Geothermal Project Management in Kenya for 26 employees of Geothermal Development Company (GDC). The short course was financed by the Icelandic International Development Agency and the Nordic Development Fund as part of the Geothermal Exploration Project in East Africa. The course was held in Nakuru and covered the basics of project management for geothermal projects. Lecturing was in the hands of Verkís, with support from Reykjavik University.
The short course was followed up by preparation and review for the D-level certification exam of the International Project Management Association (IPMA), which was held on 30 May for the participants of the course. The exam was administered by Prof. Helgi Thor Ingason of Reykjavik University on behalf of IPMA.
