Postponement of the Six Month Training in Iceland due to the COVID-19 pandemic
We regret to announce the need to postpone the launch of the Geothermal Training Programme, this year. The reason being the restrictions imposed worldwide due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
As in most parts of the world, the number of cases is currently increasing in Iceland, but the increase is moderate and steps to minimize the spread of the virus inside Iceland appear to be working well. However, we still foresee several weeks of intense restrictions ahead.
Therefore, we have decided to postpone the launch of the GTP to June 2nd, for the time being. Considering the fast-changing circumstances at the moment, there is still some chance for further delays and complications which we can’t predict at the moment. We will keep a close eye on all options available and update accordingly as soon as possible.
Nonetheless, at this stage we are fairly optimistic that the new date will be feasible and that we will be able to welcome the Fellows in Reykjavík in early June.
