GTP Fellow receives award at GRC
GRÓ GTP was well represented at the last GRC 2020 Annual Meeting with two of its affiliates being presented with awards for their contribution to the geothermal community:
The GRC Young Professional Award to Angel Monroy (MSc Fellow)
The WING Caring Award to Fríða Ómarsdóttir (GTP staff)
The GRC Awards recognize distinguished colleagues in the geothermal community from around the world with multiple submission nominations being considered for each category. This year Angel Fernando Monroy Parada was presented with the prestigious Young Professional Award which recognizes young innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, and up and coming leaders.
From the Award nomination:
"Angel has a 15 year experience in the geothermal industry, and currently works at LaGeo SA de CV in El Salvador. He is an emerging leader with experience in different areas from management and key decision-making, he will make big changes in the geothermal industry in El Salvador."
Angel graduated from the GRÓ GTP Six-Month Training in 2013 and is currently studying on a GTP MSc Fellowship at Reykjavik University in Geothermal Engineering.
