Applications open for the Diploma in Geothermal Energy for Latin America, 2024
Applications are now open for the “Diploma in Geothermal Energy for Latin America, 2024” course to be held in El Salvador from the 25th of August to the 7th of December 2024.

The diploma course is organized by El Salvador geothermal company LAGEO and the GRÓ Geothermal Training Programme. The 15-week course will include theoretical classes, field visits, practical work, and a final project. The course will cover the following topics:
- General concepts
- Geology
- Geochemistry
- Geophysics
- Integrated conceptual models
- Drilling
- Reservoir engineering
- Geothermal plants and low and medium enthalpy applications
- Environmental and social management
- Energy and policies and management of geothermal projects
Ten scholarships will be offered to students from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Peru. The course will also be open to 10 students from El Salvador. Applicants must be professionals or graduate students that are currently working on studies or projects related to geothermal.
Grantees will be notified by the 7th of August 2024.
