Annual Visiting Lecturer at the UNU-GTP 2012

This year, the annual UNU Visiting Lecturer is Cornel Ofwona, reservoir engineer at the Geothermal Dvelopment Company (GDC) in Kenya.  Cornel is a former Fellow and did his 6 months studies in reservoir engineering at UNU-GTP in 1996.  He later returned for a MSc degree at the University of Iceland in 2001 on a scholarship from the UNU-GTP.  He graduated with his MSc degree in 2002 and is now one of the leading reservoir engineers at GDC.


The lectures take place in Víðgelmir in Orkugarður, Grensásvegur 9, between the
3. - 7. of September, starting at 09:00.  Each lecture is about an hour long.

Tuesday 4. Sept:        Geothermal Energy development in Kenya: An overview
Wednesday 5. Sept:    Olkaria Geothermal Field, Kenya: Past, Present and Future
Thursday 6. Sept:       Geothermal Development in Menengai, Kenya: Prospects and Challenges
Friday 7. Sept:           Challenges of developing geothermal in developing countries: Are they surmountable?

The lectures are open to everyone.
