Mr. Joshua Were (environmentalist from Kenya) and Mr. Iderbat Lkhagvadorj (applied physicist from Mongolia) started their MSc studies in September 2005. The former defended his MSc thesis last March and the latter will defend later this year. The six former UNU Fellows (from China, Djibouti, Iran, Kenya, and the Philippines) who started their MSc studies in September 2006 will complete in 2008. Five former UNU Fellows (from El Salvador, Eritrea, Ethiopia, and two from Indonesia) have recently been accepted for MSc studies at the University of Iceland commencing in September 2007. They will all receive Fellowships from the UNU-GTP. Nine former UNU Fellows have graduated since the MSc programme was started in cooperation with the University of Iceland in 2000.
