UNU-GEST Annual Report 2017 published

The report offers a thorough overview of UNU-GEST operations in the year 2017. The report is divided into four strategic themes; post-graduate education and capacity development; knowledge transmission and transational dialouge; research activities; and management. Read about our contributions to promote gender equality and social justice in developing, conflict and post-conflict countries through a multidisciplinary approach in the year 2017.

Agreement between UNU-GEST and Birzeit University on Student and Faculty Exchange and Academic Cooperation

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Birzeit University and the UNU-GEST programme was signed. Its purpose is to encourage exchange of students for advanced studies and research and the transfer of academic credits. It also stipulates the exchange of faculty and staff members for teaching and/or research assignments. In addition, it sets forth collaboration on the organization of symposiums, workshops, conferences and academic meetings and joint research projects and publishing.

UNU-GTP celebrates 40 years of geothermal training

This year UNU-GTP celebrates its 40th anniversary as the Programme was founded in December 1978. On this occasion, special anniversary sessions were held at the Iceland Geothermal Conference 2018 at Harpan, Reykjavík.

UNU's SD Explorer launched today

On 22 January, UNU launched its Sustainable Development Explorer, a new campaign highlighting UNU’s work to support the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015, the SDGs unite global action to overcome the world’s biggest challenges, from hunger and poverty to equality and peace.
